Where Can I Get Help on Using the Wiki?

Consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.

Can I Use the Wiki for My Project, Assignment, or Collaborative Class Notes?

If you are a student or member of staff in Polacksbacken, then the answer is yes, but I'd appreciate you consulting me about where you should put your stuff so that some kind of structure can be preserved.

Can't I Just Start Using It?

In principle, yes, but if you use unqualified page names, put pages in the wrong categories, or fail to create appropriate categories and sub-pages that "fit" with the current structure, I may move or delete some or all of your pages. It's best to talk to me about your plans.

This is a private wiki personally operated and financed by me: while I don't intend to unreasonably exercise such a right, I absolutely reserve the right to delete, move, and/or edit all or any content or delete or suspend user accounts at any time without reason or explanation.

What Account Details Should I Choose?

You can use any username you choose, but you will not be able to create an account unless you supply an email address in the Uppsala University domain (uu.se). You must also specify your real name.

Your UU email address won't be world-visible, but it verifies that you are a student or member of staff in UU and allows me to contact you if necessary.

Can I be a SysOp?

No.

What's the Weird Logo Thing?

Obviously, I can't use the Uppsala University logo, so I made something vaguely reminiscent of it in its archaic drawing style and shape. It's part homage, part parody. The "motto" reads Quidquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
