Busstation

The Busstation (take a wild guess at an English translation!) is on Stadshusgatan between the train station and Bäverns gränd to the southeast. At the time of writing (August, 2006), there were extensive building works between the two stations. At the time of the last updates (November 2007 and August 2008), the building works were still under way.

Intercity and provincial bus services operate from this bus station, where there are (or at least were) 10 designated stops (A2, A3, B3, B4, C3, C4, D3, D4, E1, and E2). These stops move according to the current building works, but are all located around the construction site southeast of the train station on Fjalars gränd, Stadshusgatan or Kungsgatan. If you get the 801 from Arlanda, you will arrive at stop C2, currently in the newly constructed bus bays south of the trainstation and beside the building works digging a tunnel under the railway lines.

Stadstrafiken (“city bus services”) are not based here but at 12 stops, A to L, on Stora Torget or very close to it on Vaksalagatan and Dragarbrunnsgatan.

Directions

From Stora Torget, walk 3 blocks (~200m) southeast down Kungsängsgatan, the pedestrianised street with Åhléns on the corner. Turn left up Bangårdsgatan, the first street you come to with vehicular traffic on it, and walk 2 blocks (~175m) northeast. You will see the train station and Olof Palmes Plats in front of you. Walk to the fountain in front of the train station (~25m), and turn right. Now heading southeast down Stadshusgatan, walk ~75m to the bus station and parking yard. Total distance: ~475m.
